26 Minutes, 35mm, 2012, New York City
with Darri Ingolfsson, Ken Forman, Tiffany Rachelle Stewart and Lorena Martinez
Naïve and determined, Gunnar (Darri Ingolfsson) comes from Iceland to New York City. He has no social security number, but a dream. Gunnar is silently observing the crowd, taking pictures of strangers and flirting with a waitress who has betrayed her dream in order to survive.
Attending English language classes, Gunnar gets soaked in the world of people seduced by the American dream – Chinese construction workers, Latin dancers and Nigerian taxi drivers. «America is not a place for cynics», he's told by his English teacher. Will he ever find a way to pay for the privilege to dream?
